To be classified as a Swiss movement, the movement must be assembled and inspected in Switzerland. Additionally, at least 60% of the production cost must be Swiss-based, guaranteeing significant Swiss involvement in the manufacturing process. Finally, at least half the value of the movement's components, excluding assembly, must originate from Switzerland.

  • For mechanical movements, at least 80% of the movement's production cost must be Swiss.
  • For quartz movements, at least 60% of the movement's production cost must be Swiss.
  • The movement must undergo technical construction, prototype development, and final inspection in Switzerland.
